We’re looking for a highly experienced real estate tax strategist who can work with us on a project or fractional basis to develop and refine a tax optimization strategy for our portfolio of real estate assets. Our business includes real estate development, long-term rental holdings, investment syndications, and brokerage operations across multiple states. We’re looking for someone who has deep expertise in U.S. real estate tax strategy and has worked closely with real estate developers, investors, and operators—ideally at a high level. This is more than basic tax prep—we’re looking for someone who can analyze our structure, model tax implications, identify opportunities, and provide actionable strategies to help us maximize after-tax returns and preserve wealth. ⸻ What We’re Looking For: • A CPA, EA, or experienced tax strategist with extensive real estate focus • Strong understanding of: • Cost segregation • Bonus depreciation (current and upcoming changes) • Entity structuring across multiple states (LLC, LP, S-Corp) • REPS (Real Estate Professional Status) • Passive loss limitations and strategies • Short-term rental loopholes • 1031 exchanges and step-up in basis • Comfortable working with a real estate portfolio across multiple entities and verticals (development, long-term hold, flip, brokerage) • Can review our existing structure and propose a written strategy plan to optimize our tax position, including: • Entity recommendations • Allocation of expenses • Depreciation strategies • Best practices for capital gains minimization • Audit risk reduction ⸻ What This Is Not: • This is not a simple bookkeeping or compliance role • This is not a long-term tax prep engagement (though future collaboration is possible) • This is not for someone who doesn’t already specialize in real estate investor tax planning ⸻ Preferred Experience: • Worked with real estate-focused tax advisory firms • Experience with portfolios valued at $5M–$50M+ • Has created tax plans for developers and syndicators • Familiar with multi-state ownership structures ⸻ Deliverables: • A comprehensive tax strategy roadmap tailored to our current portfolio and growth goals • Optional ongoing consultation as new deals or structures arise ⸻ How to Apply: In your proposal, please: 1.
