We are seeking an experienced lobbyist or attorney with a strong background in interacting with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or the Department of Justice (DOJ)—particularly someone with established contacts or access to senior DHS or DOJ policymaking officials. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of DHS and DOJ operations, hierarchy, and procedures and will be capable of advising or assisting our team in communicating and coordinating with higher-level DHS or DOJ leadership. Prior experience navigating complex legal or policy initiatives within the DOJ context is highly desirable. Responsibilities: Provide strategic guidance on how to engage with high-ranking policymaking officials within the DHS or DOJ. Assist in identifying appropriate channels and contacts for communication. Draft and support outreach communications or materials as needed. Help navigate internal DHS or DOJ structures and policies to ensure effective advocacy or information sharing. Maintain professionalism, discretion, and compliance with all applicable laws and ethical standards. Required Qualifications: Proven track record of work involving the DOJ, either as an attorney, lobbyist, or similar capacity. Established professional network within DOJ or related federal agencies. Deep understanding of DOJ protocols and internal pathways. Exceptional communication, discretion, and strategic thinking. Preferred Qualifications: Prior work in a federal policy, criminal justice reform, or civil rights context. Experience with legal advocacy, federal investigations, or oversight matters. Knowledge of federal lobbying laws and ethical boundaries. Project Duration & Scope: This is a short- to mid-term engagement depending on performance and needs.
