Oriel provides digital marketing, communications, web development and design services to a variety of tech companies, primarily in the IoT industry. We're seeking an experienced content editor to help us maintain and improve our enterprise client's WordPress site, which is used to sell technical products and services. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable background in WordPress content management, excellent writing and editing skills, good knowledge of SEO, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask and learn quickly. Solid experience with WordPress is essential, and experience working specifically with Gutenberg blocks is a major advantage. Confidence in curating technical subject matter is also a definite plus, although you won't be expected to fully understand the technologies involved. This is primarily a digital marketing role, so while a WordPress-literate technical writer may well be a good fit, most duties will centre around managing and curating content based on the source material provided, rather than producing technical copy from scratch. The key skill is in being able to use the often technical source material you receive to maintain relevant areas of the site accurately by recognising and applying the patterns and considerations we teach you. Examples include the client's product selector, blog, news centre, case study section, resource library and informational videos. The need is initially for a contractor on a short- to medium-term basis, but a permanent role could be created in the event that we find a really good fit. The right candidate could start immediately and no later than week commencing 26 May.
