Web Security Analyst – Lead Generation & Anti-Spam Specialist


Job Title: Web Security Analyst – Lead Generation & Anti-Spam Specialist Location: Remote (U.S.-based preferred) Type: Contract or Full-Time Reports to: Head of Technology / COO About Us: We’re a fast-moving digital marketing company specializing in online lead generation through landing pages and performance-driven campaigns. We rely on precision targeting and optimized funnels to drive results — but increasingly, our systems are under attack from spam, bots, and malicious traffic that pollutes our lead pipelines and strains our backend. We’re seeking a Web Security Analyst with expertise in anti-spam, bot detection, and web application hardening to evaluate and help secure our lead gen systems from digital abuse. Key Responsibilities: Audit & Analyze: Perform a full audit of our lead generation ecosystem — including landing pages, forms, APIs, CRM integrations, and traffic sources. Threat Detection: Identify vulnerabilities being exploited to inject fake leads, bot traffic, or automated submissions. Mitigation Strategy: Recommend and implement best-in-class anti-spam and anti-bot measures (e.g., reCAPTCHA, honeypots, rate limiting, IP filtering, user-agent analysis, etc.). Traffic Profiling: Develop rulesets or detection logic to distinguish between legitimate users and suspicious actors, possibly using behavioral analytics or device fingerprinting. Form Hardening: Work with our dev team to fortify form submissions against automated abuse and injection attacks. Tool Integration: Recommend anti-spam, WAF (Web Application Firewall), and bot mitigation tools tailored to our marketing stack. Monitoring Setup: Establish monitoring dashboards or alert systems for suspicious activity on high-traffic assets. Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with marketing, engineering, and analytics teams to balance protection with performance and lead quality. Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in web security, bot mitigation, or web application security — ideally in a high-traffic digital marketing or SaaS context. Deep understanding of form abuse tactics, fake lead generation, scraper/bot behaviors, and anti-spam mechanisms. Experience with tools such as Cloudflare, reCAPTCHA, hCaptcha, AWS WAF, F5, Sucuri, Datadome, PerimeterX, or similar. Knowledge of traffic analysis, threat intelligence, and browser fingerprinting. Familiarity with landing page builders, CRMs, and third-party lead processing systems is a plus. Ability to translate complex security strategies into practical, lightweight solutions that won’t break marketing funnels. Strong communication and documentation skills. Nice-to-Haves: Experience with conversion tracking, performance marketing, or affiliate lead gen ecosystems Familiarity with JavaScript obfuscation, rate limiting, traffic throttling, or custom captcha development Basic data science or machine learning knowledge to help model fake traffic patterns Compensation and Hours This is a part-time independent contractor opportunity.
