Now Casting: Creative Director for “Santa in Residence” at the New York Marriott Marquis This holiday season marks Year Three of Santa in Residence—a whimsical, cinematic video series capturing Santa’s annual Christmas planning at the New York Marriott Marquis. The campaign has become one of our signature moments, and we’re looking to evolve the concept with fresh creative direction that’s clever, nostalgic, and authentic. The Role: We’re seeking a New York-based Creative Director to help concept and co-direct 8–10 short-form videos (15–20 seconds each), shot on-site between August 19–21. You’ll be developing the overarching creative for this year’s series—shaping the storylines, tone, and visuals—then collaborating closely with our videographer and crew to bring it all to life. Santa in Residence at the Marquis is quirky and joyful, but it still needs to feel cinematic, premium, and NYC-rooted. This is not your mall Santa. You’ll guide the creative. We’ll supply the talent, crew, and support—your job is to bring vision. What We’re Looking For: A strong creative POV: your ideas will lead the direction of the entire campaign Experience with short-form video storytelling for lifestyle or hospitality brands Portfolio that shows narrative skill, strong visuals, and emotional tone Confidence pitching and evolving concepts with a team Available for on-site production August 19–21 at New York Marriott Marquis Comfortable working inside a premium brand environment Budget: $2K Creative Requirements: This is our third year running Santa’s Staycation, so we’re not starting from scratch—but we’re not here to recycle either We’ll share all previous campaign ideas, storylines, and content so nothing gets repeated We’re looking for completely refreshed ideas—new energy, new formats, new ways to make Santa feel real again Santa arrives mid-November and “lives” here until Christmas, so the story has range: cozy nights in the suite, cocktails at the bar, shopping in Times Square, surprise guest appearances, etc Inspiration Reference: Check out our Instagram @newyorkmarriottmarquis and dive into our 2024 holiday content.
