Looking for a Practice Manager Consultant who will provide oversight, technical assistance, training, and quality assurance for the initial setup and implementation of BWPCs billing infrastructure. We need a consultant familiar with Ob/gyn and doula Medi-Cal billing/coding in California. The Practice Manager Consultant will play a pivotal role in ensuring fidelity that align with DHCS and MCP billing and coding guidelines. Responsibilities will include: • Establish billing/coding processes and workflows • Develop processes and procedures structured to optimize reimbursement, limit liability, and enhance data integrity • Structure a system a Billing Specialist can apply to utilize available encoder, grouper software, and other coding resources to determine the appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and/or HCPCS including specialty specific codes and Evaluation and Management (E&M) codes Configuration of EHR (Tebra) • Provides training and technical assistance to Billing Specialist on how to monitor and review all medical records to ensure medical coding accuracy, including proper completion and documentation of rendering signatures • Ensure Billing Specialist is knowledgeable on how to notify rendering providers of missing information and follows up accordingly • Provides training and technical assistance to Billing Specialist to assesses encounter documentation using Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) documentation standards. Based on the provider's documentation, identify possible documentation changes that would more accurately account for services provided if implemented • Provides training and technical assistance to Billing Specialist to resolve payer denials and respond to inquiries from revenue cycle teams, processing charge corrections as appropriate • Provides training and technical assistance to Billing Specialist to review care plans and case documentation to ensure alignment with ECM, DHCS, and MCP standards • Assists with training content for onboarding and ongoing billing staff development • Guiding performance improvement initiatives and compliance monitoring This consultant will work approximately 10-20 hours per week over the course of 6 months. This investment is critical to ensure quality, compliance, and sustainability across our non-profit organization as we expand capacity, serve new members, and transition to long-term sustainability through MCP billing.
