Job Description: I’m the owner of a well-established tourism business in Nashville. I’m moving my website from Squarespace to WordPress using the Kadence theme and a pre-selected Kadence template. I’m looking for an experienced WordPress developer who can install and configure the template, migrate content, optimize for SEO and performance, and ensure a clean, mobile-friendly launch. This is a critical site that supports a currently operating and successful business with years of SEO work that we don't want to lose, so attention to detail, speed, and SEO integrity matter. ✅ Scope of Work You’ll be responsible for: Template Setup: Install WordPress and Kadence theme on my host Install and configure the Kadence template I’ve selected Set up header, footer, global styles (colors, fonts, spacing) Customize home page, about page, services/tours page, contact page (content will be provided) Content Migration: -Import blog posts from Squarespace (I will provide the XML) -Clean up formatting, spacing, headings, and images (10–30 posts) -Maintain existing internal links where possible -SEO & Technical Setup: -Match permalink structure from Squarespace -Set up 301 redirects from old Squarespace URLs to new URLs -Install and configure RankMath or Yoast (or preferred SEO plugin) -Add meta descriptions, alt tags (if provided), and Open Graph tags -Add schema for blog posts and local business info Performance Optimization: -Install and configure caching plugin (WP Rocket or LiteSpeed) -Set up image compression and WebP delivery (ShortPixel or similar) -Ensure mobile responsiveness across all pages -Pass Google PageSpeed and Core Web Vitals on mobile and desktop Launch Prep: -Test all forms, links, buttons, and CTAs -Set up Google Search Console + Analytics -Provide staging link and post-launch QA
