Automation Engineer for Small-Scale Manufacturing System Design

We’re seeking a Manufacturing Automation Engineer to help design, source and build a custom compact continuous-web packaging skid that produces round, sealed packets. These packets are made from a PVA backed cellulose paper and are filled with alginate beads. The output is similar to this format, though with a different paper and filler: https://shorturl.at/FrrRz. You will be responsible for helping source off-the-shelf components as well as concept and CAD of the overall system. Specific components may include: unwind & tension, web alignment, volumetric feeder, top-web layup, ultrasonic seal, and rotary die-cut modules. You have clear, demonstrable hands-on experience in automated machinery design, expertise in 3D modeling (SolidWorks/CAD), web-handling systems, and the ability to collaborate closely with electrical and controls engineers to ensure seamless integration. This is a fast-moving project that starts immediately and requires focused commitment. About Us: I am an industrial designer (20+ years) leading a small team (Design, ME + EE) that designs and builds integrated products and production systems.
