Here's the story: Our Two Little Miracles: Cooper and Phoenix Our two tiny boys, you came a bit new, A little bit early, but we waited for you! Mommy and I thought, "They can't wait to meet us!" Then kind, gentle helpers came quickly to greet us. They tucked you away, in a warm, special place, So we waited a bit to see your sweet face. Then, hooray! It was time! Mommy rolled in her chair, To your room full of whispers and soft, gentle air. Beep-beep went machines, with soft, gentle lights, You slept in your warm beds, all cozy and tight. Little Cooper, little Phoenix, like two sleepy bears, With sleepy-time shades, tucked in with such cares. Tiny soft helpers, so small and so neat, Helped you breathe tiny breaths and gave you good things to eat. Oh, my two handsome boys, a wonderful sight, My heart filled with love, so pure and so bright! Then snuggle-time came! Oh, the best thing to do! I held you so close, just like kangaroos do! Skin soft on my skin, right over my heart, My happy tears fell, a brand new fresh start. Each "kangaroo hug" was the best part of all, Watching you, loving you, helping you grow tall. Little by little, you grew and you grew. Each day we would come, with our love and our song, And whisper, "Get strong, little ones, get strong!" Kind nurses would visit, with smiles and with care, To help you grow stronger and breathe the fresh air. Then your sleepy-time shades, they fluttered away, And we saw your blue eyes! Oh, happy, bright day! My darling new boys, looking right back at me, My happy tears flowed, for the whole world to see! We sang little songs, and you'd hold my finger tight, Everything felt so hopeful and right. Little by little, you grew and you grew. Each day we would come, with our love and our song, And whisper, "Get strong, little ones, get strong!" Then your nose-helpers vanished! "Hooray! Hip-hooray!" Your lungs were so strong, you could breathe all day! My strong, brave boys, learning so fast, My happy tears fell, these good times would last! Little by little, you grew and you grew. Bigger than my hand now, look at you two! We gave you warm baths and dressed you with glee, "You've come so far, sweet boys!" said Mommy and me. Each day we would come, with our love and our song, And whisper, "Get strong, little ones, get strong!" Then you learned how to drink from a bottle so neat! The last little helper? You didn't need it! So sweet! You could eat on your own! What a wonderful thing! My beautiful boys, made my happy heart sing! And happy tears flowed, it’s true, it’s true! We were so very proud, dear Cooper and Phoenix, of you! Then one magic day, the doctors all smiled, "Your boys are all ready!" they said for a while. First Cooper came home, then Phoenix, so brave!
