Job Description: We're looking for a freelance graphic designer to collaborate with our creative team, based in the midwest US, on an animated video project. The role involves designing clean, compelling visuals and layout compositions that are optimized for animation. Experience with 2.5D animation in After Effects is a plus and could lead to an expanded scope of work if the partnership proves to be a strong fit. This includes: -- Designing art boards, backgrounds, and visual elements for motion. Creative will derive from a narrative script & in consultation with our team. -- Creating assets that are animator-ready (layered files, correct dimensions, clean layout hierarchy) -- Adhering to brand/style guides while bringing fresh visual creativity -- Collaborating with our animator/editor for seamless motion integration We are a smaller, but well-established video production company interested in organizing longterm partnerships with talented designers & motion graphics artists. A successful collaboration could lead to regular opportunities for future work. Our animation work is used in marketing, educational, and trade show environments, so designs need to be both visually engaging and functional. Ideal Skills & Experience: -- Strong portfolio of design work for animation, motion graphics, or video -- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, (After Effects familiarity is a bonus) -- Experience prepping artwork for animation (e.g., layered compositions, modular elements) -- Excellent eye for layout, typography, and visual storytelling. -- Comfortable receiving creative direction and meeting deadlines, structured in occasional consult with our team.
