We are seeking a skilled and experienced Web Developer to enhance, optimize, and maintain our online platform to support our continued growth. ----------------------------- Job Summary: We are seeking an expert WooCommerce/WordPress Developer to oversee the optimization of our existing website and product listings. This individual will update designs and some functionality, and ensure our site consistently offers a seamless user experience that aligns with the company's brand. The ideal candidate will have solid experience developing WooCommerce consumer product-based websites with complex listings and variations. They will be responsible for translating client needs and Figma mockups into functional webpages, ensuring consistency throughout the UX, and optimizing product images. This role involves streamlining the checkout experience, advising on sitemap and footer links for optimal user experience, and creating intuitive variable product listings with linked variation images. The developer will also implement "product configurations" and necessary file types for custom products, ensure swatch consistency, configure product line sheet attachments and other downloads, and improve cart CSS for readability. Expertise in designing enhanced user experiences, implementation of best practices, debugging, testing for quality assurance, communication, and documenting software is essential. ---------------------------- Responsibilities: Website Design & User Experience (UX): -Ensure design consistency across the entire website, including typefaces, formatting, and imagery, adhering to brand guidelines. -Optimize the mobile user experience (UX) to ensure responsiveness and intuitive navigation on all devices. -Design and implement separate, user-friendly sign-up and login pages (including creating an interstitial for client login). -Create and integrate a "Trade Account" link with appropriate redirection functionality. -Enhance and streamline product catalog organization for easy browse and discoverability. -Provide recommendations and implement improvements for site navigation and product landing pages, including advising on sitemap and footer links. -Make swatches consistent throughout the website. -Improve cart CSS for better readability. E-commerce & Technical Development: -Improve "composite products" e-commerce pages, working proficiently with Elementor and WPBakery, utilizing existing or recommended plugins to cater to specific product configurations. -Create intuitive variable product listings and link variation images. -Implement "product configurations" and the necessary file types in the product pages of our custom products. Import and integrate Etsy reviews into the website, ensuring proper display and functionality. -Migrate digital media (high-resolution images) to a Content Delivery Network (CDN) to improve site loading speed and performance. -Provide ongoing recommendations for managing, optimizing, and compressing product images, including creating guidelines for image aspect ratio, quality, and naming/metadata. -Work with custom WordPress themes and plugins, troubleshooting, and extending their functionality to meet unique business requirements. -Optimize sort-by AJAX's functionality on product category pages. -Optimize back-end trade portal for Wholesale and trade clients. Performance & Testing: -Implement best practices for website performance optimization, including image optimization, caching, and script management. -Set up the technical foundation for future SEO efforts, including clean URL structures, meta tag implementation guidelines, and semantic HTML where appropriate.
