Local Artist Manager Needed for Musician

Booking/Artist Management needed. The setup: I am a guitarist for a somewhat-successful independent rock band in the northwest. We play all over the western U.S. and sometimes internationally. However, I want to start working on my own music, apart from that band. I have a couple-dozen songs that don’t get played nearly enough, in my opinion. For this project, it will initially just be me as a solo acoustic/singer-songwriter act. I play acoustic guitar and sing my own songs — Alternative rock, Outlaw country, Alt-country, Blues — but might form a new band depending on the level of success for this project. I can also do covers in the classic rock/country genres if needed, but I’d prefer to play my own songs. I do not need services for the other band, just for myself. However, there may be opportunities there for a stellar performer. I can’t speak for the band, though. The Problem: I’m a talented guitar player and singer who writes good songs and puts on a good show. However, I’m terrible at self-promotion, social networking, marketing, and branding; and the thought of doing that kind of work for myself keeps me from doing any of it. I’ve been writing songs and playing live for over 25 years, but I have spent most of that time playing other people’s songs because booking and self-promotion gives me the shakes. The Solution: I’m looking for a manager to work a few (1-2) hours a week to book me into local breweries, wineries, coffee shops, and opening spots in small venues around the Spokane, Washington area, or anywhere else in the Pacific Northwest. Washington or PNW resident is therefore preferred, but if that manager can form good relationships with venues easily, I don’t care where you live. Said manager will also need to be skilled in brand development and marketing, as I will need guidance in those areas, as well. At first, I’d like to setup a meeting to discuss overall goals, milestones, strategy, and tactics. After that, short weekly check-ins will be my only contact requirements. The hours you work to book/market will be up to you. For now, I can offer a minimum of $300/month for the first three months, with the expectation of 2-3 bookings that month at my current rate ($250/2-3 hour show). Ideally, once things get rolling and we’re able to book higher quality shows more often, I’d like to move to a commission structure instead, so both of us will make more money. I realize the introductory budget is low, so I am okay with someone who is just starting out, but I do need a professional who is reliable, skilled, and who communicates effectively. If you’re that person, I’d love to set up a call and see what we can do together!
