About Us: The Shaka Club is a social networking company, bringing together young professionals at frequent, in-person events to connect with like-minded peers. As an event host/staff member, you’ll play a pivotal role in creating a welcoming atmosphere, connecting people, and showcasing amazing venues, people, and brands. This is a fulfilling opportunity for anyone passionate about meeting new people, making connections, and being involved in the local nightlife scene. Responsibilities: As a member of the Shaka Club staff, you will be the face of The Shaka Club at our events. Your responsibilities will include greeting and engaging with members, checking members in for the event on our app, facilitating the club’s custom “group intros” process for mingling, and filming some videos of the events (depending on your capabilities with that). Being proactive, approachable, and enthusiastic are key qualities we are looking for in our event staff. We typically have 2-3 staff members at every event, so you will rarely be running an event solo, especially in the beginning of your time with us. We provide training to ensure you’re well prepared and confident in your role. Compensation and Hours: We offer competitive pay of around $40 per hour, depending on your experience and familiarity with events/nightlife. Initially, the role will be as needed per week for 2.5 hours, with the potential to expand to more frequent shifts per week.
