The Role We’re looking for a People Operations & HR Coordinator to own the execution of day-to-day HR and people-related tasks. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves getting things done, and takes pride in making sure nothing falls through the cracks. This is not an overly strategic or high-level HR role. We’re looking for someone who can roll up their sleeves and run with processes from start to finish, while also keeping things organized and running smoothly behind the scenes. Responsibilities • Job Offers & Contracts: Create job offers and employment/contractor agreements quickly and accurately • Onboarding & Offboarding: Handle the full onboarding and offboarding process for employees and contractors (email setup, docs, checklists, etc.) • Payroll Operations: Run payroll and contractor payments on schedule; track all payments in a Google spreadsheet • Compliance & Policies: Maintain basic working knowledge of company policies, employee classification rules, and HR best practices • Documentation: Keep internal records up to date and organized (contracts, I-9s, NDAs, 1099s/W-2s, etc.) • Project Execution: See projects through from idea to implementation—no loose ends, no “almost done” • Communication: Keep team members informed, ask questions when needed, and over-communicate rather than under-communicate Qualifications • 2+ years of experience in an HR, People Ops, Admin, or Coordinator role • Experience running payroll (Gusto, Rippling, Justworks, or similar platforms) • Comfortable with G Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive), Slack, and other team tools • Organized, responsive, and execution-oriented • Able to juggle multiple tasks and follow through on every detail • Strong written and verbal communication • Some familiarity with HR compliance and employment law (US-based) • Startup or high-growth company experience preferred Who You Are • A doer — You love getting things done and checking boxes • A finisher — You don’t leave things 90% complete • A communicator — You keep people in the loop and aren’t afraid to ask questions • A problem solver — You look for solutions instead of waiting for instructions • A team player — You’re not above any task and know that small things make big things work
