A small HR technology company is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our marketing team. This role is pivotal in engaging marketing-qualified leads (MQLs) generated through events, webinars, content campaigns, and other marketing initiatives. As the first point of contact for prospective customers, you will nurture interest, assess fit, and drive high quality conversations for the sales team. This is a high-impact, revenue-generating role where success is measured by engagement rates, pipeline contribution, and the conversion of leads into qualified sales opportunities. Key Responsibilities include: 1. Engage & Qualify Marketing Leads: - Follow up on leads from outbound marketing activities such as webinars, events, content syndication, and digital campaigns. - Conduct initial outreach via phone, email, and LinkedIn to understand the prospect’s challenges and interest in people analytics. - Qualify leads based on criteria such as HR tech stack and readiness for analytics adoption. 2. Educate & Generate Interest: - Communicate our solution's value proposition through tailored outreach and relevant marketing materials - Identify pain points related to HR data management, analytics, and reporting, and position PeopleInsight as the solution. - Schedule discovery calls and product demos for the sales team with qualified prospects. 3. Marketing Collaboration: - Provide feedback on lead quality, campaign effectiveness, and common prospect questions to help refine messaging and strategy - Partner with marketing to A/B test new messaging and outreach strategies 4. Track & Optimize Outreach: - Maintain accurate lead and activity records in the CRM - Meet or exceed weekly/monthly KPIs, including outreach volume, meetings booked, and lead-to-opportunity conversion rates. Qualifications: - 2-5 years of experience in a sales development, business development, or similar role, in B2B SaaS or HR Tech. - Strong communication and active listening skills, with the ability to quickly build rapport. - Understanding of HR challenges and/ analytics is a plus. - Self-starter, innovative mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment. - Experience with sales engagement and CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, Salesloft) and LinkedIn Sales Navigator is a plus. There is opportunity for this role to convert to a full-time engagement. The minimum duration of the contract is 6 months and we are looking for someone who is willing to dedicated 40 hours/week to this role. The base salary equates to a $50-60K annual compensation, but there is also opportunity for performance-based compensation, including: - Payout for hitting quota of scheduled meetings - % of closed deals
