We are seeking skilled page-design contractors to create student workbooks and instructor manuals in Adobe InDesign for high school and middle school students. Candidates should have expert-level proficiency with InDesign and be familiar with templates, text variables, master pages, and creating error-free documents. We have several courses in the development pipeline and are looking to line up designers who will be ready to hit the ground running once we reach the design stage. The copy for each course will already be developed. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking the material from the source file (usually a Google Doc, but sometimes an older InDesign file or a PDF) and laying it out in Adobe InDesign. Most aspects of the workbooks are templated, so many of the larger design decisions have already been made. The role includes laying out pages, sourcing appropriate images via Adobe Stock, and occasionally creating graphics, charts, or maps. Each unit is approximately 50–75 pages, and there are five units per course. Some courses include a course reader (a textbook equivalent), which can range from 100 to 400 pages. The final product will be delivered as a packaged Adobe InDesign file. The pay scale is per project and starts at $1,500, depending on the course design size. Projects typically span 1–2 weeks, though our immediate need requires a 4-6 day turnaround. Language Requirement: Spanish-speaking or Spanish-fluent candidates are strongly preferred, as we produce bilingual and Spanish-language instructional materials. Please include samples of your design work as part of your application. Must-have qualifications Technical skills: Expert-level proficiency in Adobe InDesign (current version required). Attention to detail: Ability to produce consistent and error-free instructional materials. Creative problem-solving skills: Ability to develop innovative solutions to instructional design challenges. Communication skills: Excellent written communication skills in English. Spanish fluency is preferred. Ability to collaborate effectively via Google Meet. Project management skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
