This role is perfect for someone who believes in the power of storytelling to inspire people of all ages—and who knows how to turn meaningful messages into engaging, family-friendly social media content. About the Series: This book series highlights the lives and contributions of lesser-known heroes—scientists, activists, artists, and everyday people—who’ve made a positive impact on their communities and the world. The books aim to foster empathy, curiosity, and a sense of justice in all readers and to find unsung heroes in one’s own community. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute a content strategy on Instagram, Tik Tock and project website tailored to parents, educators, young readers and anyone interested in stories of hope and perseverance. Create inspiring content such as short-form videos (Reels, TikToks), hero highlights, author insights, historical facts, animated book excerpts, and interactive storytelling moments. Design eye-catching graphics and shareable quotes that bring unsung heroes’ stories to life. Collaborate with the author, illustrator, and marketing team to maintain a consistent brand voice that is family-friendly, empowering, and respectful. Engage with followers and respond to questions/comments in a warm, thoughtful manner. Track engagement metrics and adapt content strategy to grow reach and impact. Source or suggest partnerships with schools, book stores, educators, book influencers, nonprofits and other relevant entities aligned with the mission of the series. Qualifications: 1–3 years of experience in social media content creation, digital storytelling, or family-friendly media. Skilled in creating short-form video and image content with tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or mobile editing apps (e.g., CapCut, InShot). Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex or historical topics in a simple, engaging way for all audiences. Passion for children’s books, history, equity, and education. Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to manage a content calendar and work independently. Comfortable working with sensitive topics in a child-appropriate and inclusive way. Nice to Have: On-camera or voice-over talent for storytime videos, character intros, or author content. Experience working with educational organizations, teachers, or book clubs.
