Overview We’re preparing a fully new WordPress/WooCommerce website and need an experienced SEO specialist to serve as SEO Project Manager. You will own the SEO strategy and execution—collaborating with our designer/developer and content creator—to ensure SEO is the top priority and done right from day one. Key Responsibilities SEO Strategy & Planning Lead keyword research, competitive analysis, and content gap assessments. Develop a phased SEO roadmap (Phase 1 launch essentials, Phase 2 enhancements, Phase 3 ongoing growth). Technical SEO Oversight Work with developer to implement on-page optimizations. Ensure performance benchmarks: PageSpeed Insights scores ≥ 90 (mobile & desktop) and Core Web Vitals compliance. Manage SEO tools and plugins, crawling/indexing audits, and schema generation. Content & Off-Page Coordination Create and manage a content calendar; oversee copywriting, metadata, and blog/research articles. Lead backlink outreach and partnership link-building initiatives. Monitoring & Reporting Configure and maintain Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and rank-tracking tools. Deliver weekly/monthly reports on organic traffic, keyword rankings, technical fixes, and site performance. Cross-Functional Leadership Serve as the SEO liaison between design, development, and marketing teams. Identify SEO risks or bottlenecks early and propose practical solutions. Required Qualifications 5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, including project management on WordPress/WooCommerce sites Proven record of driving organic traffic growth and ranking improvements Deep technical SEO expertise (HTML/CSS/JS optimization, schema, crawling & indexing) Experience with multi-language and international SEO Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate cross-disciplinary teams Preferred Ecommerce SEO experience and familiarity with platform/API integrations Knowledge of AI-driven SEO workflows (e.g., ChatGPT/SGE optimization) Background in high-performance, content-rich B2B websites Project Details Type: Hourly Duration: 3–6 months Hours: 10–20 hrs/week (flexible) Location: Remote (aligned with Pacific Time) Start: ASAP Please review the attached project brief for full scope, site architecture, user flows, and detailed SEO objectives.
