Kindly ignore this invite if you got one before. I wrote a website about the Grand Canyon for folks who'd just like to have some fun, maybe take a trip or whatever, and show ‘em around the southwest in an entertaining way, throwing in bits of history and enviro news they might have missed. History - to generate more self respect in minorities and more respect for them by the dominant culture. Enviro - to motivate people to do what they can to maintain humanity’s residency in the universe until we know why we and it exist. So I’d like to inundate the world with the site’s story, except that that’s a tall order, and I’m 80 and will no doubt vanish long before everybody’s heard of it. What I need is a partner who’s got the time and brains to promote the site, including after I’m gone. Some younger gal who will have ample time to bag the next dude that catches her eye (though not on my watch, if you please), with the compensation being everything a wife inherits . So, if you don’t have any kids either, nor a lover at the moment, consider this an invite to relocate to my pad in Tucson and add promoting the site to your agenda (or make it the entirety of your agenda as you wouldn’t need to do anything other than have some fun occasionally. As I suppose this is an atypical proposition, both of us could benefit from getting to know more about each other. So I’m up for swapping swim suit photos, chow at my place, etc. I do try to stay in shape, jogging or swimming an hour every other day. My wife of 45 plus years might still be around if she’d been similarly inclined, but at least she beat me to the promised land a few years back. What inspired this approach is my frustration with, for instance, seo: Despite having dutifully composed titles and tags (attached) to attract new visitors to each of the more than 300 pages, over the past few years google indexed only 30 of the English site, only 2 of the Spanish site, 65 of the Chinese site. (Sample analytics report for English version attached). So less than 10% of the 1000 pages for the 3 sites have been indexed. (The non-English versions don't have the same titles and tags as the English, because the English ones have been translated to Spanish for the Spanish site, and to Chinese for the Chinese site.) And I can't say I'm impressed with the search results of indexing. Although webalizer reports as many as 1000 visitors a day to the English site on days I spend emailing teachers, it doesn’t happen because of seo. (Google just congratulated me for the English site getting 5 clicks in 28 days.) And as for key words, I'm inclined to keep the titles and tags I composed because, having also composed the pages they lead to, I feel I've done as good a job as anybody can noting the essence of each page. Although the site gets some traffic (per Webalizer) despite my doubts about the effectiveness of indexing, my hope is the site would get way more traffic with indexing completed (maybe with an added boost from seo tools?) Since Google claims AI takes ranking into account, conceiveably seo may still be worth the trouble. I also have gripes about other apps hopefully you manipulate better than I do. When I tried Facebook paid ads, they went helter skelter. So I’ve been doing the manual labor of, for instance, composing a post focused on Thanksgiving, then joining every 100+ member Thanksgiving group I can find on Facebook to present the post. (See Facebook’s Canyon Meetup to see the sort of posts I’ve made.) Using Podbean (that places podcasts of the site on Apple, Google, Amazon’s Audible, TuneIn, IHeartRadio, and Podbean itself) has produced a grand total of about 300 downloads of segments of this free site over the past 3 years. Not impressive. The best results I’ve had from promoting the site myself has been from emailing high school teachers listed on school district websites (which I find preferable to relying on services that of course need to be paid for sending to lists such services offer). So it takes time, and if you aren’t bored doing it, you may be my lucky find. You may even be able to produce better results without so much labor by using automation I haven’t heard of. Anyway, if we can imagine living together, showing what magic you can work on the site’s seo for openers would clinch the match in my book. A small, cheap sample that produces a noticeable uptick in visitors to the site’s free story. Maybe doing something about the seo for just one or two of the 300 pages as a demo? - Hopefully you can do this despite the site’s being a “coded site”. ( I made it with Dreamweaver Macromedia before Wordpress came along, and I don’t know code.) Anyway, forget rebuilding the site as a prelude to presenting your sample. No need for a sample till we can imagine a personal partnership. Then $50 for the sample. Hey - it's only a sample . . . So there you are and here I am.
