Description: We are seeking an experienced SharePoint and OneDrive specialist to assist with resolving long-standing file access and organization issues following a GSuite-to-OneDrive/SharePoint migration. The initial migration was handled by a former MSP and resulted in broken permissions, duplicated directories, and fragmented file ownership. Project Scope: File Deduplication & Cleanup: Identify and remove duplicate files across SharePoint and OneDrive while preserving historical data. File Mapping & Consolidation: Assist with scanning and mapping file locations, ensuring files are categorized correctly. Permissions Management: Reapply permissions systematically to ensure proper access controls. Automation & Scripting: Implement automation solutions (e.g., PowerShell scripts) to streamline deduplication and organization. Requirements: Proven experience with SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business administration. Strong knowledge of PowerShell scripting for automation. Familiarity with metadata-based deduplication techniques (e.g., using MD5 hashes). Experience managing file migrations and permissions in enterprise environments. Knowledge of tools for file deduplication and cleanup (commercial or open-source). Understanding of Google Drive-to-SharePoint migrations and potential pitfalls. Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with IT and business teams. Nice-to-Have: Experience with rclone or other third-party OneDrive clients for Linux users. Previous work with SharePoint document management best practices. Deliverables: File Inventory Report – A mapped report of existing files, including duplicates, ownership, and metadata. Deduplication & Consolidation Plan – Strategy for removing duplicates while maintaining historical records. Automated Cleanup Script(s) – PowerShell scripts or recommended tools for ongoing maintenance. Permissions Reset Plan – A structured approach to restoring access controls in SharePoint.
