Scope of work and responsibilities at the bottom important: - if mvp scope description above is not detailed enough just let me know - will provide more details - fixed-price offers only! i'm not looking for time&material type of agreement now. Candidates who pass the screening successfully will be invited to next round - conversation via Skype during which I will verify your specialist knowledge and let you convince me why you should get the job WHAT I OFFER: - Flexible working hours - you can basically work whenever you want as long as the work in done on time and we have a few hours overlap during a day for sync-up meetings - The prospect of long-term cooperation in the future about the project it will be aggregator page (similar sites: lyst, polyvore, stylight) with underlying wordpress and woocommerce. I want to start with building MVP (Minimum Viable Product) and further enhance it based on the users feedback. MVP scope description: - Technology used: Wordpress + WooCommerce - What needs to be done: - overall website layout + logo (optionally) - Landing Page, About Us, Contact pages (look & feel, without content) - design products listing page - should have a tabular view - each product should be in single row with Name, Price (local currency) and Link to offer - After clicking "Link to offer" user should be redirected to the separate website where ad will be displayed - after few seconds user will be redirected to target page - (see lyst.com redirection mechanism) - product details may be expanded by clicking on "Expand button" - design product detail page - should contain basic product information such as Name, Description, Additional Details - should have tabular view for different offers (variable per seller): Price (local currency), Product Condition and Link to offer - After clicking "Link to offer" user should be redirected to the separate website where ad will be displayed - After few seconds user will be redirected to target page - (see lyst.com redirection mechanism) - advanced filtering based on multiple product custom attributes (~ 10 searchable attributes + text-based search) - SEO optimization in web search engines - integration with Google Ads or other ads system - multi-language version (2 langugages at first - English + other) - "Leave feedback" feature so users can leave their feedback about the website - "Leave feedback" should be accessible from any place on website (similar to Social Sidebar) - Lite registration for Newsletter (subscribe / unsubscribe) - email only - Disable standard Woocommerce product ordering / inventory features - Disable users full registration and login To be taken into account during design phase: - there will be more than 500k products defined in mvp so performance considerations should be taken into account - products will be added / modified directly on database level or via api - in the future it may evolve into regular store or marketplace responsibilities: - responsible for full software development life cycle - product backlog review with product owner - design and implementation - testing and deployment of the code to production - bug-fixing - ongoing support & maintenance (out of scope of the fixed-price offer, but please provide hourly rate for such service) - evaluate solutions available on the market and provide recommendations (e.g. Make vs. Buy) to meet specific requirements (e.g. What plugin to choose) - Contribute to the website development roadmap Technical qualifications: - Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent (preferred Master's Degree) - Understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development and deployment is crucial - Must be familiar with Agile (Scrum) way of working (knowledge of ceremonies and artefacts such as daily, grooming, product backlog, increment, sprint) - At least 5 years of PHP Development experience in designing, developing, and implementing web-based solutions, including: - knowledge of cli-based daemons, effective data parsing methods (xml, html), curl - experienced with third-party integration and apis - web scraping and parsing - at least 4 years of front-end development experience: - strong understanding of front end technologies (html5, css3, javascript) including knowledge of popular frameworks (e.g. Bootstrap, JQuery, etc.) - Experience building user interfaces for websites and web applications - Experience designing and developing responsive design websites - Ability to convert wireframes / mockups into working web pages - knowledge of modern ux / ui principles and trends - at least 3 years of working experience in ecommerce sites - wordpress + woocommerce - in-depth understanding of engineering with wordpress and woocommerce - familiarity with the environment (templates and their structure, hooks, advanced filtering, taxonomies, advanced custom fields, multi-language etc.) - Good knowledge of internal WordPress and WooCommerce data model and APIs (products maintenance on database / API level) - experience in working with large WooCommerce stores (more than 500k products) - experience in building custom plugins and managing / customizing 3rd party plugins (WordPress, WooCommerce) - knowledge of scalable performance optimisation techniques, limitations of mobile devices and different browsers - Must have experience with the latest version of WordPress and WooCommerce - At least 2 years of working experience with MySQL database (including advanced querying, indexing, stored procedures, etc.) - In-depth understanding of application security and data privacy considerations - understanding of responsive design and seo practices - experience in using debugging tools, ability to debug your own code and that of others, -
