We need to test the network connection quality between a remote site (customer site) and multiple AWS servers. These AWS servers use Linux (Ubuntu) OS, and their public IPs are known. These servers are behind a firewall and have a known port open to run the test. The AWS servers are controlled by us and can run additional services. The network quality connection can be measured by several metrics: • ping time from the customer site to an AWS server, • download speed and download latency, • upload speed and upload latency In addition, we need to test the network connection quality between a remote site (customer site) and a corporate server onsite. The onsite server uses Linux (Ubuntu) OS, its public IP is known, and the server has a known port open, The same metrics should be used to evaluate the connection quality. I skipped the third action item since it is the same case as the first paragraph. The overall purpose of the test is not to check if a server is online, but to determine how fast is the connection to a server for downloading and uploading the data. The test does not need to continuously monitor the connection quality.
