Project Overview: We are seeking an experienced Moodle Developer to support and execute the migration of our LMS from Lambda Solutions to a self-hosted server. While the actual migration will begin on May 31, 2025, we are looking to hire someone now who can get familiar with our systems, advise on server setup, and answer functionality questions in advance to ensure a smooth transition. Lambda will provide: A full database export (including user accounts and course progress) The moodledata folder Course files and configuration backups Key Responsibilities: Consult on appropriate hosting options and prepare server setup in advance Become familiar with our current Moodle configuration and any customizations Advise on plugin compatibility and functionality questions prior to migration Complete the full site migration once backup files are received on May 31 Ensure seamless transfer with minimal downtime Implement security, performance tuning, and backup systems Provide documentation and brief training for internal team post-migration Qualifications: Demonstrated experience with Moodle migration, configuration, and hosting Strong knowledge of PHP, MySQL, and Moodle architecture Experience with cloud hosting services (e.g., AWS, DigitalOcean, etc.) Ability to assess and replicate existing Moodle functionality and customizations Strong communication skills and responsiveness Timeline: Start: As soon as possible (consultation and preparation phase) Migration: Week of May 31, 2025 Goal: Minimal downtime during transition
