Azure DevOps Engineer – Infrastructure & Automation

Description:

We are seeking an experienced Azure Infrastructure Engineer to lead a regional deployment project and provide ongoing Azure infrastructure support. The initial engagement will be a fixed-scope contract focused on Databricks regional deployment. This role is critical to helping us optimize our cloud infrastructure for scalability, invoicing flexibility, and resource management across multiple Azure regions. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in Azure, Terraform, PowerShell, ARM Templates, networking, and Azure DevOps. Initial Project – Regional Deployment (Fixed-Scope Contract) The first engagement will focus on: * Restructuring Azure subscriptions to allow invoicing flexibility (separating invoices by subscription for credit card payments and cash flow optimization). * Implementing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) to enable seamless Databricks job deployment across multiple Azure regions. * Setting up networking configurations to ensure storage accounts and Databricks workspaces communicate efficiently. * Documenting infrastructure changes in a UML diagram for compliance with Drata and internal tracking. Preferred tooling: Terraform (preferred), ARM Templates, PowerShell, Azure DevOps. Ongoing Work – Hourly Support (Post-Project) After the successful completion of the regional deployment, we’d like to continue working together for ongoing Azure infrastructure and DevOps support, which may include: * Automating key rotation & certificate management to prevent single points of failure. * Azure administration & infrastructure updates (as needed). * Ensuring secure device configurations via Microsoft Intune. * Advising on IT security best practices & responding to security-related client questions. * Reviewing and updating existing IaC based on Security and deployment best practices Requirements: * Proven experience deploying Azure infrastructure using Terraform, ARM Templates, PowerShell, and Azure DevOps. * Strong networking knowledge to configure storage, VNETs, and Databricks connectivity across multiple regions. * Experience with cloud security & compliance documentation (SOC 2 familiarity is a plus). * Ability to work independently and efficiently execute on fixed-scope projects. * Excellent problem-solving and documentation skills.
