Job Description: We are a digital marketing agency looking to expand our team with a US-based SEO consultant who understands the unique needs of local businesses. This role is ideal for someone experienced in local SEO, technical implementation, and content strategy. You’ll work with a small group of clients to start, with opportunities for increased hours and long-term collaboration as our agency continues to grow. Key Responsibilities: Conduct SEO audits focused on both local and technical improvements Perform local keyword research to identify high-intent, geo-targeted opportunities Optimize on-page elements including meta tags, headers, internal linking, and content structure Implement technical SEO best practices such as site speed improvements, schema markup, crawlability, and mobile responsiveness Manage and optimize Google Business Profiles and ensure NAP consistency across listings Support and guide content strategies that enhance local visibility and drive conversions Apply SEO best practices to social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, and others when applicable Monitor and analyze performance using tools like Google Analytics and Search Console Provide clear, actionable insights and reporting for each client Required Skills and Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in SEO, preferably with local businesses or service-based industries Strong understanding of local SEO, including Google Business Profile optimization, citation building, and review management Proficiency in WordPress; experience with other CMS platforms such as Shopify, Webflow, Wix, and Squarespace is a plus Excellent writing and content creation skills for SEO-optimized pages and blog content Experience with tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, BrightLocal, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Screaming Frog Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate clearly with clients and team members Must be based in the United States Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in helping businesses grow Nice to Have: Experience in web development or website building, especially for small business websites Experience managing or assisting with PPC campaigns (Google Ads, Meta, etc.) Ability to implement light front-end edits or collaborate effectively with dev teams when needed About the Role: This is a remote, contract-based position with flexible hours. You’ll begin with a small number of clients, each requiring light but meaningful SEO work. The focus is on supporting local businesses with high-impact, targeted strategies. As the agency grows, you’ll have the opportunity to take on more hours and contribute at a deeper level.
