Illustrator help with vectoring elastic baseball closure

I have a fashion tech pack in Illustrator for baseball caps (see attached). The closure at the back is a traditional snapback. I would like to change the closure to an elasticized closure, like the one in the attached image. I'm not skilled enough at Illustrator to do it myself. I'm sure there will be more work to come in future. Thanks.
