San Mateo Medical Center’s Innovation Center designs and implements pilot projects that advance the organization’s strategic goals and capabilities. The Innovation Center team has established a participatory design approach to innovation for the specific context of the organization (public health system) and the people it serves (predominantly Medi-Cal). The Innovation Center is working on ‘Redesigning Primary Care Access with Patient Community’ pilot project to engage the assigned Medi-Cal patients who are currently not engaging in primary care. This involves interactions with community-based organizations and with community members. The Innovation Center is seeking visual design support for its communications, creation of a brand identity that will inform these communications, and facilitation support for sessions with community members. The scope of work is as follows. 1. Develop a set of brand identity guidelines along with a logo and templates for digital (e.g. slide decks) for the Innovation Center. 2. Design the communications that go into the community so that they are aligned with the values of the community. These communications could be verbal, physical (e.g. flyers), or digital (e.g. slides to be shared in community sessions) 3. Guide the facilitation of the three community co-design workshops alongside the Innovation Center team by bringing an experience design lens. Key requirements for contract vendor: 1. Experience working with underserved communities. 2. Experience working on participatory design projects.
