I’m a design-build executive at a public works firm in New York City. I’m looking for a proposal coordinator who can develop well-organized, visually polished statements of qualifications and proposals for public sector clients. The goal is to present documents that inspire confidence and clearly communicate our capabilities. You will be responsible for creating these documents from scratch, from layout and structure to final formatting. This includes assembling content, applying a consistent visual design, and delivering clean, professional files on deadline. The top priority is someone highly organized and proactive, someone who can manage schedules, maintain order across multiple inputs, and lay out sharp, coherent proposals without needing to be micromanaged. You should have strong visual sensibilities and a clear sense of design. Second, you’ll need to exercise basic judgment to interpret what the client is asking for, what sections to include, how to structure the content, and what tone or formatting makes sense based on the RFP or RFQ. I typically write and review the copy myself, so only light editing or drafting will be required on your end. I want to work directly with an individual, not a company or a team that outsources to others. Extreme politeness, patience, responsiveness, and reliability are essential. Meeting submission deadlines is not optional. When we’re working on a proposal, that becomes your top priority.
