We are a publisher of soft-skills development resources. We’re looking for a skilled, detail-oriented graphic designer to help us update existing products materials. The changes required are mostly technical in nature, such as replacing Type 1 fonts, checking linked artwork, and revising text. However, we also welcome feedback on design/layout. Some of the core responsibilities include the following: -Convert cover from saddle-stitched to coil-bind or from standard 3-ring binder to coil-bind -Add/remove/edit text, images, layout, etc. -Add color to the interior with guidance. Some creative design required. -Adjust PowerPoint display ratio -Communicate directly with print vendor and assist in corrections to print proofs (when needed) We will provide PDFs marked up with comments and the edits that need to be made. We have several products to update, and so efficiency is important. To reduce the number of feedback/editing rounds, good candidates will ensure all requested changes have been implemented correctly before providing design proofs and ensure all files adhere to our naming conventions. The contract will be completed successfully once we receive the packaged production files including the Adobe InDesign Package Report document, fonts, links, INDD files, and print-ready PDFs. Upon receipt of your proposal, we will require that you complete our NDA. Once returned, we will share the marked-up PDFs and a revision punch list via Upwork messaging. After reviewing these materials, please confirm your hourly rate, the total number of hours you expect each milestone will take and the earliest date you can have each milestone completed. If you are hired, we will ask for your email so that we may send you an invitation to collaborate on the product folder through our preferred cloud-based service for file sharing, Box.com. We require that you access all necessary product files to complete the work and upload design proofs through this site only. We’re interested in a long-term relationship with a qualified candidate. The punch list breaks the project down into milestones. When working together for the first time, we ask that you submit design proofs after following completion of a milestone so that we may evaluate your work and determine if we'd like you to move onto the next milestone. If expectations are not met, we will end the contract early.
