Job Description: Code Reviewer for Web Scraper Infrastructure We’re looking for an experienced code reviewer to evaluate and provide feedback on a series of web scrapers currently being developed for a large-scale data project. You will not be writing the code yourself—but your job is to audit the logic, structure, and integrity of the scraper code (primarily in Python, with integrations involving APIs, databases, and data sanitization layers). This review is crucial to ensure scalability, accuracy, and long-term maintainability. ⸻ What You’ll Do: • Review scraper code for readability, modularity, and performance • Identify and flag inefficiencies, bugs, and risky patterns • Validate handling of edge cases, exception logic, and rate limiting • Ensure code aligns with industry best practices • Suggest improvements or refactors (without rewriting the code) • Provide feedback via comments or structured review docs ⸻ Ideal Candidate Has: • Strong experience with Python, especially around web scraping and data ingestion • Solid understanding of API rate limits, pagination, and authentication flows • Experience working with modular scraper frameworks (Scrapy, BeautifulSoup, etc.) • Strong attention to detail and clear, constructive communication style • Familiarity with GitHub pull request workflows • Bonus: Experience with proxy services, headless browsers, or scraping at scale
