Job Summary In your QA Lead Engineer position, you’ll be taking charge of finding, documenting, suggesting improvements and managing both defects in the company’s products and new/better quality assurance methods, processes, and tools. You’ll work closely with the development, support, project/product management, and broader QA team that at times includes internal and external staff to bring excellence to both process and products. This role will see a wide variety of QA tasks and systems to ensure there’s always something exciting to explore and participate in with the team. You’ll test new code, ensure regressions have not occurred in older parts of the software and AI products; you’ll write test cases and support the dev team with automation and test the apps and APIs manually as appropriate. You will also lead and participate in tight iterative testing efforts focused on improving results of implemented automation, at times with live clients. Core to this role is automated testing, as well as direct functional and non-functional testing of the web application and API. The role will also own creation of associated documentation and use cases, as well as leadership of any testing efforts involving internal and/or external resources. Job Duties - Design and write QA plans, leveraging use case scenarios and test cases to ensure comprehensive coverage of functional and non-functional requirements. - Have knowledge of various test repository tools like JIRA, Clickup or any equivalent; leveraging Clickup for administration of, tracking and recording of testing efforts - Performs functional, nonfunctional (focus on performance and usability testing) and API tests. - Analyzes test results and recommends corrective actions, working directly with developers to ensure efficient resolution of issues while providing transparency to leadership during the resolution path. - Lead testing efforts at all stages of development life cycle and progression through development and QA environments and into production. - Gate keeping of the production environment, ensuring proper internal and UAT testing in the QA environment prior to release to production, as well as appropriate post production release testing efforts. - Contribute to enhanced usability of the product by identifying and documenting suggested improvements. - Knowledge and proficiency in setting up data and environments in Windows, Mac and Linux - Maintains responsibilities for ensuring MediaViz systems operate within the parameters defined in test documentation and tickets. - Work with a cross- functional team in an efficient manner, including but not limited to excellent communication and time management skills to share responsibilities and expectations, and accomplishing goals throughout timelines. - Test, test, test and report all issues and success through the internal documentation system (Click-up). - Participate in team meetings and share details of QA to enhance team member understanding of the system status. - Collaborate with dev, project/product management, sales, customer success, support, and other teams. - Help maintain the company knowledge base with the support team. Minimum Qualifications - Degree in Computer Science, or related discipline (or equivalent / relevant work experience). - 3+ years of experience in software development/testing with a minimum of 3 years leading testing efforts. - Experience in using various software QA methodologies, tools and processes including automation tools and practices, as well as deep understanding of Functional and Non-Functional testing - Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks and test cases for frontend and API. - Experience in developing use case scenarios and imitating user interaction with web applications and API to root out bugs and user experience issues. - Strong understanding of API fundamentals - Working knowledge of SQL or other database fundamentals. - Professional experience with Swagger, Jira, Clickup, BitBucket, Zephyr Scale, and other repository/development management tools.
