We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated WordPress developer to assist in optimizing the page speed of our Divi-powered website. Our goal is to improve our Google PageSpeed Insights (PSI) scores to approximately 90 or higher on both mobile and desktop. This project involves analyzing the website, identifying performance bottlenecks, and implementing strategies to enhance the overall loading speed, responsiveness, and performance. Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategies to improve the PSI score to around 90 or higher for both mobile and desktop versions of the site. Optimize website assets including images, CSS, JavaScript, and HTML for faster loading times without sacrificing design or functionality. Implement best practices for WordPress performance within the Divi theme, including optimizing the Divi builder elements, caching solutions, and configuration of any necessary plugins. Identify and eliminate any unnecessary plugins or scripts that may be impacting page speed. Optimize and fine-tune the server and hosting environment for performance improvements, working with the web hosting provider as needed. Implement lazy loading for images and videos to further reduce load times. Consider and implement a Content Delivery Network (CDN) solution if beneficial to significantly improve page speed. We are willing to cover the cost for a CDN if it’s a recommended solution for achieving the desired PSI improvements. Requirements: Proven experience as a WordPress developer with a strong portfolio of optimized websites, specifically with Divi. Expertise in WordPress performance optimization, Divi theme customization, and front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). Experience with performance testing tools (Google PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix, Lighthouse, etc.). Strong understanding of website speed optimization techniques, including image compression, browser caching, minification, and lazy loading. Knowledge of server-side technologies, CDN integration, and caching plugins (e.g., W3 Total Cache, WP Rocket). Strong troubleshooting skills to quickly identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. Familiarity with the latest web performance best practices and trends. Strong communication skills to report progress, issues, and improvements. Based in the United States with availability for remote work. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with popular WordPress themes and builders (specifically Divi). Previous experience improving PageSpeed Insights scores to ~90 or higher, especially for Divi-based websites. Familiarity with advanced performance tools such as New Relic or similar.
