We're seeking remote engineering contractors to assist with various engineering projects at our company, where we build consumer-facing AI software products. Our team comes from AI / ML and software engineering backgrounds, and we manage our own cloud infrastructure. An ideal candidate is someone who has experience building similar systems (whether in a hobby or professional project) and enjoys working with AI. Usage of AI for coding (such as ChatGPT / Gemini / Claude) or AI-powered IDEs (such as Cursor) is strongly encouraged. While most of our work is backend-focused, familiarity with front-end development is a big plus (though not necessary). Our projects are generally designed to be straightforward for a single engineer to develop and complete. The tech stack will primarily be based on Python, with usage of LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, etc. Most projects will involve writing Python code that calls LLMs and various APIs, making them ideal for engineers who enjoy building AI applications in Python. Example projects include: - Develop a data processing pipeline using OpenAI's GPT-4o-mini to transform text-based datasets from one format to another - Build a system utilizing OpenAI's GPT-4o to extract metadata from specific image sets So please apply if this sounds like a good fit for you! NOTE: when you apply, you may optionally include an example Python file (under 100 lines) containing code which highlights frameworks you’re comfortable using that might be relevant for this role. We will prioritize reviewing applications which include such an example. You may use AI to help generate the code, but please note that we may ask some brief clarifying questions about the code during an intro call. Good examples could be: an API server with a HTTP endpoint that calls the OpenAI client, or a Python function which does some interesting data manipulation. Feel free to get creative!
