LCMS (Learning Content Management Systems) About the Job: We are a SaaS provider of a Learning Management System. We provide both a subscription service for clients as well as an option for a client to purchase the software and host it on their own servers. We are looking for a primary/lead, programmer, application developer to perform programming and maintenance of an existing and widely used Learning Management System. The Learning Management System is an asp.net/VB.net web-based application that uses an SQL server database back-end. The candidate should have experience in both developing new asp.net/VB.net code and features, as well as troubleshooting, updating and maintaining existing legacy code. Candidate will be the primary application programmer, responsible for all aspects of the application from basic HTML and CSS interface features, to semi-complex database managed interactions. The applicant’s everyday duties will include: Investigating application problems or issues reported by customers, diagnosing the problems, and preparing fixes. Building out requested enhancements to the Learning Management System as requested by the customer. Working to monitor and improve the performance of the overall Learning Management System and database structure. Adding new features and functions as required. Working to ensure the Application is compatible with changes that occur in internet browser standards and mobile device changes. Assist management with database and application back-up tasks and replication. Required Skills Extensive experience in all aspects of managing and developing an ASP.NET VB.NET web based application using SQL server as the back-end. Extensive experience with HTML, HTML5, CSS, Javascript and JQuery. Experience in managing an SQL server database to include adding and updating tables, columns, keys and indexes. Experience in understanding, diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and enhancing existing code. Experience with Windows server 2019 and IIS to create and configure new installations of the Learning Management System for purchasing customers. Some exposure to Learning Management System principals Desired Skills: Experience with Learning Management System / Training development standards such as AICC, SCORM and Tin-Can / xAPI. Experience with Windows Server 2019 Experience configuring domain DNS settings and secure certificates. Experience parsing server logs to discover the source of production errors. Experience with classic ASP will be beneficial.
