We're a high-volume digital marketing agency in need of an experienced and creative WordPress Website Designer to join redesign an outdated site into a visually appealing, user-friendly, and fully functional WordPress website. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and launching a new WordPress site tailored to our brand, while ensuring an excellent user experience and optimal performance. You will also be required to interact with the client during the discovery phase, presenting your concept, etc. The site will be fairly straightforward. Essentially, a 5-7 page corporate style informative website with basic functionality, similar to what you'd see with most modern b2b sites. All copy and imagery will be provided. Furthermore, it will follow a similar structure and framework as another one our brand's sites, so you won't have to start from scratch. Key Responsibilities: Participate in discovery call to gather client's criteria, design preferences and relevant information. Create wireframes and a site map to present to the client. Design and develop a new WordPress website based on client or business requirements. Work with our marketing and content teams to ensure seamless integration of design with content. Develop responsive web designs that work seamlessly across various devices (mobile, tablet, desktop). Optimize website performance for speed and efficiency. Implement SEO best practices for search engine optimization. Ensure the website's security by keeping up with regular updates to WordPress, plugins, and themes. Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and user experience best practices. Provide general instructions to client on how to update basic content. Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience designing and developing websites using WordPress. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; must be able to interact with clients over Zoom meetings with the utmost professionalism. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP. Experience with WordPress themes, plugins, and page builders (e.g., Elementor, WPBakery, etc.). Strong understanding of responsive design principles. Knowledge of SEO best practices and experience implementing them. Familiarity with Google Analytics and other performance tracking tools. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Attention to detail and a keen eye for design. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects. A portfolio demonstrating previous WordPress website design work. Preferred Qualifications: Please note, this project would likely begin between March 17-22, 2025, and will need to be completed in approximately five weeks, so you must be available during this time and have adequate band width. Down the road, the client would like to add a portal for customers to make purchases, so if you have experience integrating e-commerce platforms, that's a plus (but not required). Also, if this project is a success, you would become our go-to for any development needs for other clients (we have a few in the pipeline now).
