Heya! I am in search for a person to help me further bring to life my Zombie survival horror novel The Infested. The story is about a man named Edward who is surviving in the Philadephia exclusion zone set up by the government branch FERS Federal Emergency Response Service. After a zombie outbreak caused by a fungi called Apple Cedar rust had swept across the United States. FERS had struggled to keep control of the Zombie outbreak in the city with daily crack downs to prevent the infection from spreading further where implemented making many in the city distrust and out right want to oppose them. Many factions formed to oppose them and many people began to take territory and carve out their own parts of the city. Edward meets George a source of support and camaraderie amid the chaos. Together, they navigate the treacherous landscape of the city overrun by the Infested, a term used to describe those who have succumbed to the fungal infection, transforming them into mindless, zombie-like creatures. The duo's journey is fraught with challenges, as they encounter not only the Infested but also hostile survivor factions that have resorted to brutal tactics for survival. As Edward and George delve deeper into the heart of the Philadelphia exclusion zone, they uncover remnants of Edward’s past, including haunting memories of his son and the idyllic life they once shared. The juxtaposition of Edward’s grief with the stark reality of their current existence serves as a poignant reminder of what is at stake. Throughout their harrowing adventure, Edward is faced with moral dilemmas that challenge his humanity. Will he cling to his hope for a better future or succumb to the darkness that has enveloped the world? Clara, the resourceful leader of a makeshift community, has become an unexpected ally. It is within the ruins of her enclave that Edward and George first learn of Jamie—a girl rumored to possess immunity to the Apple Cedar rust infection. Clara presents the daunting proposal: smuggling Jamie to Dr. Zuckerman in Boston, a scientist dedicated to finding a cure for the zombie infection that has ravaged the world. The mission is fraught with danger, but the promise of salvation for the remnants of humanity compels them to accept. As their journey unfolds, Jamie’s unique abilities come to light. She appears to have a remarkable connection with the Infested, exhibiting the power to communicate with them in ways that defy explanation. With a simple touch or a whispered word, she can momentarily still their aggressive instincts, revealing a deeper complexity to these creatures that Edward and George had deemed mindless. As Jamie grows closer to the Infested, a rift begins to form between her and the two men. Edward and George grapple with their roles as protectors, questioning whether their mission to reach Dr. Zuckerman is truly about saving Jamie or simply a means to an end. The closer they get to Boston, the heavier the weight of their choices becomes, forcing them to confront the darkness that threatens to consume them all. Will Edward cling to his hope for a better future, or will he succumb to the despair that surrounds him?
