I am the owner of a security products company with good search engine rankings for a variety of keywords and am seeking assistance in updating my knowledge of media and PR. I'm not actively seeking direct media relations or PR services at the moment. I'm more interested in receiving instruction on best practices, realistic expectations and objectives, as well as how to pitch media organizations with ideas or mentions of new studies. I do have some on-air experience and website mentions, with a few regional news organizations around the US. However, I'm prepared to approach media organizations directly in-house or through a freelance provider by offering my own ideas and material. The material would be related to physical security, safety, and technology in expertly written long form study format. I'm searching for an experienced public relations expert who is eager to collaborate with me on developing a public relations plan. I'm willing to develop a long-term relationship with a mentor who believes they can assist me at an hourly rate to help me make sound PR decisions and investments, so I can perform outreach on my own. Prior experience in pitching to journalists is required.
