I’m looking for a skilled audio engineer or post-production sound specialist to restore and clean up audio from a key episode of a new, unreleased queer-forward YouTube interview series. The guest in this episode is a legendary performer in NYC’s queer nightlife scene, recently featured on a major pop artist’s album — so this is a culturally significant interview and a core piece of my channel’s debut lineup. Unfortunately, the guest’s dedicated microphone was never turned on, so there’s no isolated track of their voice. Their voice was only captured via: My Rode Wireless GO II microphone, clipped to me (the host) — this is the only isolated audio track available The camera’s onboard mic (Sony ZV-E10), embedded in the main video file — not available as a separate audio track The guest’s voice is present, but it’s off-mic, inconsistent, and distorted at times — especially during laughter or emotional high points. My video editor previewed the audio and estimated that Adobe Premiere’s AI cleanup could potentially salvage about 75%, but I’ve only received a brief sample and don’t consider it usable for final release. I also ran the audio through Adobe Podcast Enhance Speech V2, which improved some clarity, but it introduced a robotic, over-processed quality in many areas. I’m now seeking an experienced audio engineer to bring a more natural, human quality to the voice — not just an automatic AI Adobe edit but to work around those distorted or overly enhanced sections as needed. What I Need: Work from the raw Rode Wireless GO II audio (provided) Isolate, enhance, and balance the guest’s voice to the best possible quality Minimize echo, distortion, and room noise from off-mic pickup Deliver a clean, sync-ready WAV or high-bitrate MP3 Bonus: Experience with dialogue reconstruction or phonetic patching — if certain words are distorted or unintelligible, I’d love for you to creatively fill in the gaps using advanced tools or blending surrounding speech Ideal Skills & Tools: - Deep expertise with audio restoration (iZotope RX, Adobe Audition, Logic, etc.) - Strong portfolio in dialogue editing, podcast cleanup, or field audio rescue - Familiarity with recovering off-mic or poorly captured voice tracks - Patience and creativity with imperfect audio * Bonus if you’re familiar with drag/queer culture (not required) Project Details: Interview Length: 42 minutes Files Provided: Isolated Rode Wireless GO II audio + video file with embedded camera audio (if needed for reference) Turnaround: 5 days NDA + standard contract required before file delivery If you’re passionate about preserving meaningful conversations and bringing high-stakes, creative content to life through great audio — I’d love to hear from you.
