We are a Medical Billing company who is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented backup cardiology medical coder/biller with proven experience using Athena. The ideal candidate should be able to accurately code and bill podiatry and wound care related procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations and optimizing revenue cycle management. Strong attention to detail and a deep understanding of podiatry and wound care billing processes are essential. If you have a knack for problem-solving and a commitment to accuracy, we want to hear from you! We do have a current coder but, we are looking for another coder for project work, possible A/R at times, cover for vacation/time off and office growth. Podiatry and Wound Center Coder: • Perform accurate coding abstraction from procedure reports for procedures. • Assign appropriate CPT, and ICD-10, codes based on documentation. • Understanding of appropriate modifier usage • Ensure compliance with CMS, CCI edits, NCDs, and LCDs for podiatry/wound care services. Qualifications: • Certified Coder (CPC, CCS, or CRC preferred) with experience in cardiology coding. • Strong knowledge of cardiology procedures (e.g., EKGs, stress tests, catheterizations, angioplasties, pacemaker insertions, ETC) • Experience working in AthenaOne (Athena EMR/EHR).
