Hi there! We are looking for someone to help on see if there is a way to Franchise or develop a Multi-level marketing system for our business. We are a tech-enabled property management business that manages 28,000 rentals from Alaska to Florida. We built our own technology to do the day to day (rent collecting, repair management etc ) and after 8 years we truely have one of the best products in the industry. We centralize all the back-office administration (leasing) though our national office. We're sort of like Uber for property management where Uber has a central office in San Francisco that allows them to be the "Yellow Cab" anywhere in the world without having a large staff presence in the local market. We are looking for ways to grow our company and I've always been interested in a franchise / multi-level marketing system as what I LOVE about these is your inducing people to be your sales/operations force as partners and they can go run/grow the business for us while we focus on back office technology/operations which is our sweet spot. I'm thinking it can look like this: 1. We recruit someone who is ideally already managing 100-1,000 doors on their own systems or someone from scratch. 2. We find a way to get them to join our company and put all their doors on our technology/systems so that they learn our process etc. 3. Then rather than them worrying about operations (since we're doing that), they can be MUCH more focused on business development and getting more units. So they would run around their local market trying to win business for us and can be far more effective then we can since they have local relationships, can see people in person (right now our sales force is remote). Like I could imagine this person asking all the local realtors to go for coffee meetings to tell them about our service and trying to get intros to all the big real estate investors in town to pitch them to use our service. This is just something we CAN'T do digitally/remotely 4. ALSO, I'd love to find a way for them to recruit other people to go add units to our system who they manage and they get a piece of the action. So it's almost like a multi-level marketing. 5. These people should get no salary, we want them to be stakeholders (We can provide stock) or lifetime earnings from their share the revenue they bring in. Like just like a McDonald franchise owner - this should be a way for a win/win for us where McDonald's corporate gets their share, and we get our share. We have built REALLY good processes to do all things property management ANYWHERE in the US, and if we can a robust sales force on the ground to add unit count, I know we could grow rapidly. I think the key is setting these folks up so there is little or no cost to them and they can built equity in the company. LIke they get a percentage for the lifetime value of that building they brought on or if they "own a territory" - they can build it up and sell it later (for example). Like a MasterFranchise.
