Steel Structure Drafter – Job Description We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Steel Structure Drafter to join our team in designing and drafting custom metal buildings. This position will be responsible for creating accurate construction drawings, shop drawings, and layout plans for pre-engineered steel structures, including commercial, agricultural, and residential projects. Responsibilities: Draft detailed 2D/3D drawings for steel buildings, including framing, roofing, siding, and connections Prepare anchor bolt plans, erection drawings, and fabrication details Coordinate with engineering, sales, and project managers to finalize building specs Ensure drawings comply with applicable codes and manufacturing standards Revise drawings based on redlines or field changes Manage drawing packages for multiple projects simultaneously Requirements: Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) Experience drafting for steel/metal building systems or structural steel Understanding of construction methods, framing systems, and building components Attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication and coordination skills Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
