We are seeking a talented and experienced Product Designer to join our innovative project of developing smart safety glasses. Our goal is to transform a 3D scan of existing safety glasses into a fully realized CAD model that aligns with our product vision and conceptual renders. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a cutting-edge wearable tech product with a focus on safety and functionality. Project Scope: Take an existing 3D scan of safety glasses (provided by us) and refine it into a high-quality, editable CAD model. Incorporate our smart safety glasses concept, blending our product vision and provided renders into the design. Ensure the design maintains ergonomic functionality, safety standards, and manufacturability. Collaborate with our team to iterate on the design based on feedback and technical requirements. Deliver final CAD files optimized for prototyping and production (preferred formats: STEP, IGES, or SolidWorks). Key Responsibilities: Analyze and clean up the 3D scan data to create a precise base model. Integrate smart features and aesthetic elements from our renders into the CAD design. Ensure the design adheres to safety glass standards (e.g., ANSI Z87.1 compliance) and practical wearability. Provide regular updates and drafts for review during the design process. Offer suggestions for material selection and manufacturing considerations (optional but a plus). Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in product design and 3D modeling, preferably with wearable products or eyewear. Expertise in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Rhino, or similar). Strong ability to work with 3D scan data (e.g., mesh cleanup, reverse engineering). Familiarity with integrating conceptual renders into functional designs. Knowledge of safety standards for eyewear or similar products is a bonus. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Portfolio showcasing relevant past projects (please include links or samples in your proposal). Deliverables: Fully refined CAD model of the smart safety glasses. Supporting documentation or notes on design choices (if applicable). File exports in agreed-upon formats suitable for prototyping.
