Job Description: Market Manager – Capital Harvest Market Contract Position (May 7 – October 2025) Schedule: Wednesdays, 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM Overview: Capital Harvest Market, a vibrant artisans and food market located in the heart of Washington, D.C., is seeking a Market Manager to oversee weekly market operations during the 2025 season. This contract position is ideal for a detail-oriented, customer-focused professional with excellent organizational and communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Vendor Coordination: • Assist vendors with booth set-up and breakdown. • Manage and assign vendor booth locations efficiently. • Ensure vendors adhere to market guidelines and policies. Market Operations: • Serve as the on-site point of contact for vendors, customers, and corporate partners. • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable market experience. • Address questions from attendees and vendors with professionalism and enthusiasm. CHoP Market Booth: • Staff the CHoP Booth to provide information about the market, vendor offerings, and upcoming events. • Engage with visitors by answering questions and promoting market highlights. • Share insights about seasonal produce and healthy recipes to encourage customer interaction. Corporate Partner Liaison: • Serve as a liaison with corporate sponsors and partners. • Communicate market updates, opportunities, and feedback to stakeholders. Requirements: • Prior experience managing events, farmers markets, or similar public-facing environments. • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and multitask under pressure. • Excellent communication and customer service abilities. • Ability to lift and carry materials as needed (up to 25 lbs).
