We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer to lead a critical migration project involving the transition to Cisco UCS X-Series chassis. This project entails the planning, execution, and deployment of new UCS X-Series infrastructure, migrating existing workloads and data from legacy UCS systems. The successful candidate will ensure a seamless and efficient migration, minimizing downtime and adhering to best practices. Project Planning & Execution: Develop and execute detailed migration plans for the transition to UCS X-Series chassis. Coordinate with stakeholders to define migration timelines and milestones. Manage project resources and ensure timely completion of tasks. Minimize disruption to production environments during the migration process. Technical Implementation & Configuration: Configure and deploy Cisco UCS X-Series chassis, servers, and related components. Migrate virtual machines, applications, and data from legacy UCS systems to the new X-Series platform. Validate hardware and software configurations to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during and after the migration. Implement best practices for UCS X-Series deployment and management. Documentation & Reporting: Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including migration plans, configuration guides, and troubleshooting procedures. Provide regular status reports and updates to project stakeholders. Document lessons learned and best practices for future migrations. Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with infrastructure teams, application owners, and vendors to ensure a successful migration. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide project updates and address concerns. Work closely with Cisco support to resolve complex technical issues. Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in data center infrastructure projects. Proven experience in Cisco UCS migrations, preferably involving X-Series deployments. Strong understanding of Cisco UCS architecture and best practices. Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere). Technical Skills: Expertise in configuring and managing Cisco UCS X-Series chassis and servers. Strong knowledge of Cisco Intersight management platform. Familiarity with storage and networking technologies related to UCS deployments. Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is a plus. Experience with firmware upgrades on UCS systems. Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and project management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA Data Center, CCNP Data Center, UCS certifications) are highly preferred.
