To meet growing client demand in the Business Intelligence (BI) domain, we are seeking an experienced Analysis Services Consultant to join our team. Job Overview We are looking for a skilled Analysis Services Consultant who can design, develop, and optimize Business Intelligence solutions using Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS). The consultant will collaborate with our internal teams—data engineering, project management, and analytics—to build and maintain robust, scalable BI solutions that provide actionable insights for our clients. Responsibilities Solution Design & Architecture: Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable data models and BI solutions. Architect and design OLAP or Tabular models in SSAS, ensuring optimal performance and maintainability. Development & Implementation: Develop and maintain SSAS cubes or tabular models, including measures, hierarchies, and calculated fields using DAX or MDX. Integrate SSAS solutions with data pipelines (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or other ETL tools). Performance Optimization: Monitor, analyze, and optimize the performance of SSAS models, ensuring fast query response times. Troubleshoot issues related to data quality, model design, or system bottlenecks. Data Governance & Security: Implement security measures, including role-based access control for SSAS solutions. Ensure data quality and consistency across the entire BI ecosystem. Reporting & Visualization Support: Collaborate with reporting teams (e.g., Power BI, Excel, or SSRS) to ensure seamless integration and data accuracy. Provide guidance on best practices for creating dashboards and visualizations that deliver actionable insights. Client Collaboration & Training: Work directly with clients to gather requirements, demonstrate solutions, and provide user training. Offer ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements to clients’ BI environments. Qualifications Proven Experience: At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SSAS (Tabular and/or Multidimensional). Demonstrable experience in data modeling, DAX, MDX, and performance tuning of OLAP or Tabular models. Technical Skills: Strong background in SQL and T-SQL development. Familiarity with ETL processes and tools (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or similar). Understanding of data warehousing concepts, such as star/snowflake schemas, fact/dimension tables, and data lakes. Analytical Mindset: Proven ability to transform complex business requirements into practical data solutions. Experience performing root-cause analyses of performance or data issues. Communication & Collaboration: Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a consulting environment. Preferred Traits Cloud Experience: Familiarity with Azure Analysis Services or Power BI Premium for enterprise-level BI solutions. Certifications: Microsoft certifications in SQL Server, BI, or Azure are a plus. Team Player: Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborative solution-building with cross-functional teams. Continuous Learner: Keeps pace with evolving BI trends, tools, and best practices.
