We are seeking an experienced GCP Architect to join a specialized team building a next-generation, AI-driven medical records review solution on Google Cloud Platform. You will collaborate closely with our Project Manager and our Generative AI Specialist to design, implement, and optimize a secure, scalable GCP architecture that delivers automated insights for Medicare compliance (RCD program). Key Responsibilities Architect & Design Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of a robust GCP-based solution to ingest, process, and store HL7-based medical record data. Integrate with Google Cloud services (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Vertex AI, etc.) to support generative AI workflows. Data Pipeline Development Define scalable, near real-time data pipelines for HL7 messages from WellSky EHR via Mirth Connect. Ensure proper data transformation, storage, and retrieval for downstream AI analyses. Security & Compliance Implement industry best practices (IAM, encryption at rest and in transit, monitoring) to protect sensitive PHI/PII. Work with internal teams to ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and other regulatory standards. Collaboration & Leadership Collaborate with the Generative AI Specialist on model integration, data requirements, and performance. Work hand-in-hand with the Project Manager to define timelines, deliverables, and resource needs. Provide technical guidance to stakeholders and junior engineers. Performance Optimization Monitor and optimize the solution’s performance, reliability, and cost. Adopt best practices around GCP resource usage, data partitioning, and query optimization in BigQuery. Documentation & Reporting Produce architecture artifacts, design documents, and technical specifications. Contribute to status reports, project updates, and risk assessments in partnership with the Project Manager. Qualifications Technical Expertise 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and deploying solutions on Google Cloud Platform (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Vertex AI). Proficiency with data ingestion architectures (ETL/ELT, streaming, batch processing), especially handling HL7 or other clinical data interfaces. Deep knowledge of IAM policies, VPC configurations, and security best practices in regulated environments. Healthcare & Regulatory Familiarity with HIPAA requirements and healthcare data handling. Exposure to CMS guidelines, RCD (Review Choice Demonstration), or related healthcare compliance initiatives is highly desirable. Collaboration Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a small, focused team alongside a Project Manager and Generative AI Specialist. Education Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience also considered.
