Digital Marketing Expert for Ed-Tech Startup Growth (High School Career Exploration) Hope Street Group – a mission-driven ed-tech startup – is looking for a Digital Marketing Expert to turbocharge our growth. We help high school students explore career paths, and we’re expanding from a few pilot schools to 100,000 students by the end of this year. We need a savvy marketer who can drive rapid user growth through innovative digital campaigns and community engagement. About Us & The Challenge Hope Street Group is a 7-person startup focused on helping high school students discover and explore careers through technology. We’ve validated our platform in starter schools and now face an exciting challenge: scaling our reach to thousands of schools and students nationwide. This is where you come in. As our Digital Marketing Expert, you’ll develop and execute strategies to grow our student user base exponentially – leveraging social media, content, and creative growth hacks to hit our ambitious target. Role & Responsibilities In this role, you will wear many hats and take ownership of our digital outreach. Key responsibilities include: • Social Media Growth & Engagement: Build and engage communities on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Reddit, and LinkedIn. Create a buzz that resonates with high school students, educators, and stakeholders. • Content Creation & Ad Strategy: Develop compelling content (posts, short videos, graphics) and paid ad campaigns to attract and retain users. Craft the messaging and creative strategy that drives sign-ups and participation. • Campaign Management & Analytics: Plan and manage digital campaigns from start to finish. Track performance metrics (clicks, sign-ups, conversions, engagement rates) and use data to optimize for better results. • Referral Program Monitoring: Oversee our referral initiatives (student-to-student, teacher-to-teacher, administrator-to-administrator). Encourage viral growth by making it easy and rewarding for our community to refer others. • Team Collaboration: Work closely with our small internal team (founders, product, outreach coordinators) to align marketing with product updates and school engagement efforts. Share insights and brainstorm new growth experiments in weekly strategy discussions. This is a hands-on role where your ideas can quickly turn into action. One week you might launch a TikTok challenge, the next you could be A/B testing Instagram ad creatives or supporting a student ambassador campaign. Qualifications & Requirements We’re seeking a highly skilled digital marketer who can hit the ground running and deliver immediate results. The ideal candidate will have: • Proven Digital Marketing Experience: A track record of growing social media followings and engagement rapidly. You know how to create content that goes viral and have managed successful online campaigns end-to-end. • Audience Engagement Skills: Experience engaging Gen Z or high school students is a huge plus. (Background in youth marketing, education technology, AI in education, or non-profit campaigns is preferred.) • Strategic & Analytical Mindset: Ability to plan effective marketing strategies and also dive into analytics to measure what’s working. You make data-driven decisions and aren’t afraid to pivot based on insights. • Knowledge of U.S. Education System: Familiarity with American high schools and academic calendars/trends will help tailor campaigns. (Preferably U.S.-based or with significant experience marketing to U.S. students and educators.) • Collaborative & Independent: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with a tight-knit team, but also self-driven enough to experiment with new ideas on your own. You’re comfortable with an iterative, test-and-learn approach to marketing. • Immediate Impact: We need someone who can start delivering results quickly. Whether through quick wins in social media growth or optimizing our ad spend, you should be confident in making an immediate positive impact on our metrics. If you have experience running marketing for a startup or launching growth campaigns from scratch, be sure to highlight that. We love entrepreneurial mindset and creative problem-solving. Work Arrangement & Compensation • Communication: We plan strategic check-in meetings 1–3 times per week (to brainstorm, report on analytics, and ensure we’re aligned). Outside of those, you manage your own schedule and workflow. We value results, not micromanagement. • Initial Engagement: This will start as a part-time contract. We’re flexible on hours as long as goals are met – you might begin with a few hours per day. • Budget: we are willing to invest in the right person. Your compensation will be commensurate with your experience and the ROI you can deliver.
