Southern Careers Institute (SCI) is seeking an experienced Reddit Community Manager to join our team. This individual will play a key role in managing SCI’s online presence on Reddit by identifying relevant subreddits, providing credible answers, and engaging with the community to enhance SCI’s reputation and SEO. The goal is to actively engage in discussions where SCI is mentioned, as well as to contribute helpful, insightful responses in related communities, helping to position SCI as a trusted resource. This is a remote, freelance position. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Reddit, the ability to identify relevant conversations and subreddits, and a collaborative mindset to work closely with our team to ensure our responses align with SCI’s values and brand. Key Responsibilities: Research & Identify Relevant Subreddits: Find and monitor subreddits related to career development, trade schools, education, and Texas-based topics, as well as any subreddits where SCI is mentioned. Collaborate with the SCI Team: Work with our marketing and social media teams to craft credible, informative responses that align with SCI’s values and messaging. These responses should enhance our brand and reputation without being overtly promotional. Monitor Mentions of SCI: Keep an eye out for any mentions of Southern Careers Institute across Reddit. Engage with users discussing SCI, ensuring the conversation is accurate, informative, and positive. Provide Credible & Insightful Answers: Respond to users' questions with well-researched, helpful answers related to career growth, trade education, certifications, and skill-building, while subtly incorporating SCI’s programs when relevant. Boost SEO & Brand Awareness: Focus on driving positive engagement that contributes to SCI’s SEO, ensuring that our name appears in positive discussions and helpful responses. Report Performance: Provide regular reports on subreddit engagement, mention tracking, performance metrics, and offer suggestions for improving SCI’s Reddit presence. Requirements: Proven experience managing Reddit communities or similar social media platforms. Deep understanding of Reddit’s culture, community guidelines, and subreddits. Excellent written communication skills with the ability to offer professional, non-promotional responses that add value to discussions. Ability to collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure that responses align with SCI’s messaging and brand voice. Strong research skills to find subreddits and discussions where SCI is mentioned or where the team can add value. Experience in social media management, community engagement, or digital marketing. Self-starter with excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently. Bonus Skills: Familiarity with the education or trade school industry. Knowledge of SEO principles and how engagement impacts SEO rankings. Experience working with Texas-based communities or education systems.
