Postsecondary School Accreditation Consultant


The consultant will assist with the accreditation process with a postsecondary school accreditation agency. The consultant will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the process and working with the school director in preparing submission data, as well as writing and editing submission documents. The timeline is tight, and the consultant is expected to deliver results quickly. The consultant must be able to work under their own direction, calling on support, when necessary, but taking the initiative and leading the process to a successful conclusion. Main duties and responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for all preparation of documents for accreditation submissions; this will involve close collaboration with the school director and involves working to a very tight, non negotiable timeline that is set by the accreditation bodies. Project management of accreditation exercise i) Rapidly build up knowledge of accreditation requirements, from information supplied by accreditation bodies and other sources acquired by School ii) Advise School staff on expectations of accreditation bodies iii) Confirm timeline for each accreditation exercise and keep the school director on track to meet the deadlines. Preparation of documents for reaccreditation submissions: i) Confirm with school director sources of information and evidence ii) Manage collection and analysis of information and check answers the requirements of appropriate accreditation body iii) Research information and evidence not currently available within the school, such as using the internet to provide comparison with competitors iv) Ensure data collected is accurate v) Make judgement on what should be included in the submission documents – distilling information from the range of sources into a coherent picture that fits with the strategic plan of the School vi) Write, edit and prepare draft submission documents and key supporting evidence. Edit content to ensure it reads as series of compelling quality focused statements about the School’s provisions vii) Confirm appropriateness of submission through discussions with School’s accreditation body contacts. Make adjustments as necessary viii) Finalize documents following comments from Executive Board of the School, prior to submission for approval ix) If necessary, make adjustments required by Program and Partnership Approval Panel prior to submission to accreditation body
