YOUR IMPACT: The Data Collector will collect in-the-field videos of moving vehicles in various lighting and road conditions. As part of your role, you will be responsible for collecting datasets for the client’s AI team. Data collection consists of capturing videos of vehicles using provided equipment, with varying road types, vehicle speeds, lighting conditions, and locations. You will be responsible for sharing this data with the AI Data Science Team to feed further product development. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Location: Remotely from the US (You may be located in any US state, excluding Arkansas, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and South Carolina) Contract Length: 1 month with possibility of extension/continued work * Collect videos of vehicles while parked roadside based on collection requirements (road types, speed limits, lighting conditions) using provided video equipment. * Manually count passing vehicles while recording video at each location (counter will be provided with equipment). * Determine specific testing locations within your city based on collection requirements. * Drive between collection sites and remain in or next to your vehicle while data is being collected. * Operate collection equipment (provided camera, laptop, peripherals, and mounting system), update firmware and support diagnostic testing as necessary, and troubleshoot issues with the support of the AI Data Specialist Team. * Closely follow collection requirements and track collection scenes in a provided spreadsheet. * Upload recorded video to shared portal within 12 hours of collection (internet with good bandwidth required). * Attend 2 weekly scheduled syncs with collection manager. * Work closely with the AI Science Team to determine any changes to be made to collection plan, camera settings, or collection equipment. Possible early morning or late evening calls with domestic (USA/Vietnam) team members. * Deliver high quality results in accordance with milestones and deadlines. While the volume of work is known, the amount of time to complete collections is unpredictable and dependent on traffic conditions. Time commitment may vary week to week, but will likely require 40-50 hours per week. WHAT YOU BRING: * Driver’s license and legal capability of driving in the US. * Reliable personal vehicle and automobile insurance. * Safe driving record with experience driving in the US. * Ability to travel around your city and work from your vehicle for up to 10 hours per day while collecting data. * Ability to drive for short periods of time and utilize vehicle navigation (Google Maps, etc...). * Ability to utilize online maps to plan future collection sites/routes. * Basic proficiency in document formatting tools including MS Office (Word and Excel specifically). * Basic knowledge of computers and peripherals (laptops, switches, external HDDs, ethernet cables, etc...) * Experience with Linux OS and command terminal a plus. * Experience with basic Python programming language a plus. * Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills. * Rigorous attention to detail. Can maintain attention to detail during repetitive tasks. * Excellent comprehension, organization, and prioritization skills required. * Solid time management and multitasking skills. * Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
